  • About Me
I received my Ph. D. degree in February 2016 in computer science at Cornell University. I am very fortunate to have worked with Prof. Thorsten Joachims on machine learning and related areas. Other members in my Ph. D. committee include Prof. Charles Van Loan and Prof. David Bindel. Currently I am a senior data scientist at Blizzard Entertainment, Irvine, CA.

  • Other Stuff
    • I love the classical Chinese novel 《红楼梦》 (Dream of the Red Chamber, a. k. a. The Story of the Stone). I founded a students' association for it with my friends in Tsinghua University.
    • I used to play a sport called shuttlecock a lot. Actually I made the starting setter for the varsity team of Tsinghua University.
    • I love music. I played tremolo harmonica for quite some time when I was a child, as it was one of the very few musical instruments my family could afford at that time.
    • My hometown is the city of Mianyang, Sichuan Province, China. She is a beautiful and peaceful small city in the southwestern China, in which I spent the first 15 years of my life happily.  She was severely damaged in the catastrophic earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 in May 12, 2008. However, this only increased my love for her.
